"Died Jul. 13, 1931. 89, Veteran of the Civil War, died at his home in Chauncey, Monday. He was born in Ohio and came to Illinois in 1852 with his parents (Andrew and Christena Painter Mushrush). He and Mrs. (Martha Jane Carlisle) Mushrush, who survives him, have lived on the same farm for sixty two years. (Burial at Waggoner Cemetery, Crawford Co)."

Daily Record 1/11/1991"Died Jan. 10, 1991. Age 79, Rt 3 Sumner died about 9 pm Thursday at Lawrence County. Born April 23, 1911 in Petty Twp, she was the d/o Orville and Mayme Groves Wright. She was married to Valmore Mushrush and he survives. Other survivors included two sons and a daughter, eight grandchildren and six g-grandchildren. Three brothers and a sister preceded her in death. Funeral Services at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cunningham Funeral Home, Bridgeport. Interment is in Waggoner Cemetery."

Also are surviving is one son, Robert Mushrush of Lincoln; one sister Mrs. Chloe Fearheiley of Bridgeport; two grandsons and four g-grandchildren. Mr. Mushrush was a retired farmer and formerly resided in the Chauncey area. He was a member of the Lawrence County Farm Bureau. Funeral rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday from Sivert Funeral Home in Sumner w/ the Rev. R. David Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in Sumner Cemetery."

An Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War, he was employed as a systems engineer for Electronics Data Systems, Nashville TN. Survivors include his mother, a sister Marjorie and brother Mike, and four nephews. Interment at May Chapel Cemetery, east of Lawrenceville."

Lawrence County News 11/4/1948"Died Nov. 2, 1948 Age 70, wife of Riley Stevenson, died at her home four miles north of Lawrenceville, Tuesday morning. Mrs. Stevenson was born on the same farm on which she died and spent all of her life as a resident of that community. She was born Dec. 13, 1878, d/o Jacob and Susan Zehner Cochran. Survived by her husband and eight children. The children are: Mrs. Alfred Earnest of Quincy, Ralph of Effingham, and Veris, Clyde, Lyman, Lindsay, Bertis and Edwin Stevenson all of this county. Five children preceded her in death. There are also 19 grandchildren who survive. Funeral is 2 p.m. in the Dollahan Methodist Church at Pinkstaff with the Rev. Roy Hudson in charge. Burial will be in Derr Cemetery."
