Obituary of Sam S. Cochran

"Died Jan. 20, 1986. Died about 8:45 a.m. Monday in Deewood Nursing Center, Sumner. He formerly resided on Sumner Rt. 2. A Lawrence County native, he was born Nov. 2, 1901 the s/o John M. Cochran and Pearl Snyder Cochran. He was married to Ida Cochran, who survives him. Also surviving are a sister, Dorothy Weiss, Sumner, two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. A son Harold Cochran died in 1978. Interment at Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery (Richland County)."

"Died Apr. 29, 1995. Vincennes IN, Stephanie Cochran, 46, 1520 Main, Vincennes IN died of heart failure Saturday at her resistance. Born Jan. 16, 1949 in Texas City, TX she was the d/o of Harold L. Cochran and Dorothy Wade Cochran. Survivors include her mother and sister Carol, two nephews Alan and Mark; and a great-nephew Alex. Private graveside services at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 2nd in Sumner City Cemetery."

Obituary of Woodrow Cochran

"Died Feb. 13, 1964. Woodrow J. Cochran, 54, of 1605 6th Street Lawrenceville, died at 7:45 a.m. today at the Lawrence Co. He was born Feb. 25, 1909 in Sumner, s/o Harley and Addie Dickerson Cochran. He had been a lifelong resident of Lawrence County and a resident of Lawrenceville for the past five years. He was married June 17, 1959 to Edith Bennett and she survives; also a stepson James Bennett of Lawrenceville and a stepdaughter Mrs. Robt. Allen also of Lawrenceville. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Newland of Lawrenceville, Mrs. Perna Deere of Hammond IN and Mrs. Dollie Quinton of Detroit Michigan. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday at the Emmons Funeral Home with Rev. H. Lewis Wilson in charge. Burial will be made at White House Cemetery."

Obituary of Edwin Alex Enloe

"Died Mar. 28, 1992 Age 69, of Wimberley Texas, died Saturday March 28th in Seton Hospital, Austin Texas. Born Sept. 28, 1922 in Mansfield Louisiana, s/o Edwin and Allene Alexander Enloe. He was married to Bea Warren Enlow and she survives. Other survivors: two sons Douglas A. of Lawrenceville, Stuart E. of Birmingham Alabama; a stepson Rick Hodges of Tyler Texas; a daughter Sharon Conley of Kansas City Kansas; two stepdaughters Linda McMillen of Portland Oregon, Rebecca True of Amarillo Texas; a sister Margaret Bradley of Fort Worth Texas; and ten grandchildren. Funeral was held Tuesday at the Chapel in the Hills Church with internment in Wimberley Cemetery."

"Died Mar. 31, 1998 In St. Louis Mo, Age 92, formerly of Lawrenceville died at St. Mary’s Hosp in St. Louis. Born Sept. 23, 1905 in Lawrence County, d/o Oscar and Eliza Hanson Smith. She married Otto Enlow and he preceded her in death Feb. 9, 1968. Also preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and five sisters. Survivors include: son Bernard Enlow of Chesterfield MO, daughter Norma Pranke of Cupertino CA, four grandsons and eight g-grandchildren. Internment at Lawrenceville Cemetery on Friday at 11 a.m."

"Died Apr. 5, 1985, Age 87, Mt. Carmel (Wabash Co) resident, Mr. Enlow died about 9:30 p.m. Friday in General Baptist Nursing Home. Born in Sulphur Indiana Sept. 19, 1897, he was the s/o Miles and Nancy Bead Enlow. On Aug. 17, 1917 he was married to Anna Smithley who died Oct. 3, 1971. Survivors include: three sons, Donald of Robinson, Raymond of Flat Rock, Herschel of Mt. Carmel; six daughters, Lena Lawrence of Sumner, Ruby Scoville of Riverdale, Shirley Rich of Hobart Indiana, Frances Anderson of Princeton Indiana, Edith Caudle and Mary Jane Fisher both of Mt. Carmel; one brother Earl Enlow of English Indiana; one sister Lavinia Lynch of Jeffersonville Indiana; 36 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren."

Obituary of Esther Bole Enlow

"Died Nov. 24, 1995, Age 89 of Lawrenceville, died about 9:05 p.m. Friday in Lawrence County Memorial Hosp at Lawrenceville. Born Jan. 20, 1906 in Grant County, d/o of David and Elizabeth Jane Randolph Bole. She was married to Simon Enlow and he preceded her in death. Survivors include three sisters, Ruth Taylor of Olney, Aileen Dunham and Mildred Ferriel both of Lawrenceville, and several nieces and nephews. There are no services or visitation planned. Her body is being donated to Washington University in St. Louis Mo, for medical research. Her ashes will be interred at a later date. Summers-Kistler Funeral Home, Olney, is in charge of arrangements."

"Died Dec. 25, 2001. Age 85, of 1616 Cedar in Lawrenceville, died about 10 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Village, Lawrenceville. Born May 24, 1916 in Chicago and was a d/o Leslie E. and Katie Stark Mannen. She was married to William Miller who preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 1983 and by a daughter Billie Gardner. Survivors include: two daughters Sharon of Florida and Judy of Lawrenceville, six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a half sister Shirley. Funeral is at 10 a.m. Saturday Dec. 29, 2001 at Smith Funeral Home, Lawrenceville, with burial in May Chapel Cemetery east of Lawrenceville."

"Died Apr. 19, 1985. Age 80 of Flat Rock, died this morning at Crawford Memorial Hosp. Born Aug. 25, 1904, parents were Charles R. and Edith Lindsay Miller. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Flat Rock United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, two daughters Donna of Flat Rock and Wilma of Oblong, one son Walter of Lawrenceville, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three sisters all of Lawrenceville who are Gleneva Talbot, Irene Stevenson and Frances Chansler. Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Flat Rock at 2 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Walter Davidson and Rev. Bob Fear officiating. Interment will follow in Jones Cemetery."

Born July 3, 1908 in Bridgeport Twp, d/o of Everett and Margaret Stout Newman. She was married to Virgil Milligan and he proceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1967. She was also preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Survivors include two daughters, Irma of Lawrenceville and Carolyn of Findlay Ohio; two sons Everett and Otto of Lawrenceville; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport, with the Rev. John Leffler officiating. Internment will follow in Sumner City Cemetery."

"Died Aug. 16, 1938. Death was due to infirmities of age. He was 88 years, 8 months and 12 days old. His next birthday anniversary would have been in December. Funeral services are to be held Thursday at 2:30 pm at the Methodist church in Mt. Carmel with the pastor, Rev. J. W. A. Kinnison in charge. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery in Lawrence County. Surviving are widow (Alice Seibert) and three children: Earl O. Milligan and Mrs. Muriel DeDell of Mt. Carmel and Mrs. Ruth Hazelton of Robinson (Crawford Co); two grandchildren George Alice DeDell and Mary Earline Milligan; two sisters Mrs. Alfred Corrie of Lukin and Mrs. Fred Mattson of Lawrenceville; and one brother Sam Milligan of Lawrenceville; one half sister Mrs. Anna May Harness of St. Louis and one half brother Stewart Milligan of Blaine Washington. Roy N. Milligan of this city is a nephew of the deceased. Mr. Milligan was a member of the Methodist Church and was a native of Richland County."

"Died Oct. 16, 1947. Age 93, widow of Andrew M. Milligan, died at her home at Seventh and Jefferson streets early Thursday morning. Born in Flora (Illinois) on March 18, 1854 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Moore. She was married to Andrew M. Milligan on October 30, 1879 and 50 years ago they moved to Lawrenceville. She has been a resident of the city since. The husband and one son preceded her in death, James Harvey Milligan. Surviving is one son Roy N. Milligan of Lawrenceville and one grandson, Omar Milligan of Seal Beach California."

"Died Jan. 29, 1987. Age 93, died about 9:40 pm Thursday at Deewood Nursing Center in Sumner. He was a retired farmer and resided all of his life on Sumner Route 2 in the Chauncey area. Born in Robinson (Crawford Co), April 18, 1893, he was the s/o Moffit and Della Mushrush Mills. He was married to Anna P. Sanders who preceded him in death as did his parents, four brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Sunday at Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport with the Rev. Tim Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, east of Olney (Richland County) along US Rt 50."

Interment at Derr Cemetery, east of Pinkstaff."

"Died Aug. 29, 1949. Known as “Ham” died at his home in Bridgeport Monday at 1:30 a.m. Born in Bond Township September 1, 1877, s/o Palmer and Isadora Childress Mills, a lifelong resident of Lawrence County. Married to Miss Maude Pinkstaff, who preceded him in death. He was married a second time to Mrs. Corah Homan who survives him. He is also survived by one son, Carlos Mills of Oklahoma City Ok, a stepdaughter Mrs. Katherine Callis of New York, and four grandchildren. Burial in Lawrenceville Cemetery."

Funeral rites will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday from Sivert Funeral Home in Sumner with the Rev. Kenneth Plummer officiating. Interment will follow in Chauncey Cemetery."

She was born in Orange Co, Ind., May 13, 1903, the d/o William J. and Lona Roll Hawkins. Her husband Anson Mills died in 1959. Interment will be at Crest Haven Memorial Park, west of Sumner (Richland County)."
