William Albert (Dick) Hendricks Company B, 11th Regiment of Infantry Corporal Born February 15, 1883 in Hornsby, Macoupin County, Illinois, served three years in the Spanish American War, being stationed part of the time in Cuba. After an honorable discharge, he came to Palestine as fireman on the Illinois Central Railroad in November, 1910. William died October 31, 1947 in Chicago, and is buried at Palestine Cemetery, LaMotte Twp. Source: his obituary, and I have a picture of him in his uniform. Georgia Ferry
